The Minnesota Wild need depth.

The NHL round last Friday night did not bring anything new to one team: the Minnesota Wild had to leave the rink again as a loser – for the fifth time in a row.

The most recent defeat was particularly bitter.

Fans booed the team off the ice after a home loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Or those fans booed who stayed to watch the match until the end.

The course of the Wild, who started the season with great expectations, does not seem to be corrected no matter what is done in the club.

GM of the club By Bill Guerin sat down with the team’s captain earlier in the week, and the parties discussed the team’s miserable early season.

The head coach John Hynes wants his team to be tougher.

– A competitive attitude around the puck is not a style of play. Fighting at the starting point is not a playstyle. That’s what it takes to win night after night. It’s about being willing to do those things on a regular basis. It all boils down to that, he said For The Athletic.

The Wild have collected only nine series points in 12 games. They have won just one of their last nine games.

The early season has been anything but what was expected in Minnesota.

Club superstar Kirill Kaprizov signed a mammoth $136 million (17 million per season) contract extension with the club, the promising young players are a year older and the core of the team is strong.

Last spring, the Wild struggled in the opening round of the playoffs with the Vegas Golden Knights, and this season the team had to be even more impactful.

It’s only early in the season, but the Wild need to rock big to keep the playoff train from running too far.
