28 deaths have been reported in Jamaica following the passage of Hurricane Melissa. The government confirms this, Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness reported on Saturday (local time) on X. Previously, there were nineteen fatalities. In total, Melissa has claimed the lives of at least 59 people. At least thirty people have died in Haiti, and one fatality occurred in Puerto Rico.
