In the Kitchen Champion Division, Willem II has two points more than Dordrecht, but the difference seemed much larger, especially before half time. Samuel Bamba opened the score early, after which things went fast. After about fifteen minutes the score was already 3-0 through Devin Haen and Justin Hoogma. Mounir El Allouchi and Nathan Tjoe-A-On also scored a Tilburg goal before half-time.
Thanks to Jasper Cillessen, Rijnsburgse Boys falls just short of a historic cup comeback against NEC
After the break, the Tilburg team slowed down, but there was no way for Kuyt’s team to make a comeback. Yet Willem II walked a little further away through a sixth unique goalscorer: Emilio Kehrer. The German also made the seventh shortly afterwards.
Sparta is too strong for Groningen in a goal-fest
Sparta has advanced to the next round of the KNVB Cup at the expense of FC Groningen (5-2). In a goal-rich meeting, Sayfallah Ltaief opened the Rotterdam team’s score early. The visitors then came into the match and took the lead through goals from Younes Taha and Thom van Bergen.
But in the second half Sparta turned the game around again. Tobias Lauritsen, Bruno Martins Indi and Ayoub Oufkir scored the goals for Maurice Steijn’s team. In the final phase, Etienne Vaessen received a red card at Groningen. With the exchanged visitors, Mats Seuntjens had to take a seat under the crossbar. Oufkir was also able to find the net against the occasional goalkeeper.
The Hits are too strong MVV
De Treffers has now become such a renowned name that no one is really surprised anymore if they face a team from the right row of the Kitchen Champion Division in the KNVB Cup. Yet it remains a stunt time and time again, including this Thursday against MVV (3-1).
Sebastiaan van Bakel scored the opening goal for the team from Groesbeek, which is coached by Theo Janssen. Nabil El Basri scored the Maastricht equalizer after half an hour, but De Treffers had the upper hand again in the second act. Anis Yadir and again Van Bakel led De Treffers to the next round.
