According to a spokesperson for the municipality, there was a technical malfunction during the processing of the votes last night.

“All paper counts are complete,” the spokesperson said. “But the iPads at two polling stations were down. As a result, those votes could not yet be processed digitally.”

Problems elsewhere too

Hilversum is not the only municipality struggling with iPad problems. For this reason, votes could also not be passed on to the main polling station in Epe, Gelderland.

The votes at candidate level are currently being checked again in the Amrâth Hotel in Hilversum. As soon as the data from the two affected polling stations has been processed, the total overview will be complete, Hilversum confirms.

Expected later today

The municipality expects that this could take several hours. “It must be done carefully,” the spokesperson emphasizes. “We are now looking at whether someone can do it immediately. If that works, the results will be online in one to two hours. Otherwise, not until later today.”
