The complete switch to the diftar system will take place on January 1 in Anzegem, Avelgem, Harelbeke and Wielsbeke. Kuurne, Deerlijk, Waregem, Zwevegem and Spiere-Helkijn will have a transition year until the end of 2026, while Kortrijk will first evaluate the system.
According to Koen Delie of IMOG, the transition is going smoothly and according to plan. “We see that registrations are still coming in. In Kortrijk, residents still have time until November 8 to register. We are going to more than 60% of residents who have requested a diftar container and 50% who have a organic kitchen waste bin available,” says Delie.
