The Umbrians beat Livorno 2-0 with the former owner’s son, who returned with the coach and Novellino, kicked off the bench for protests. Inter U23 defeated by Cittadella
Three postponements to close the eleventh day, waiting to make room (from tomorrow to Thursday) for the second round of the Lega Pro Italian Cup, with many big names involved. Here, in the meantime, is everything that happened. In group A, a playoff shot by Cittadella who narrowly beats Inter U23 (who had come from seven useful results): it is the third victory in a row for Manuel Iori’s team, signed by the veteran Salvi midway through the second half following a corner development. Curiosity: two woodblocks on each side in the 90′, by Amatucci and Rabbi for Cittadella and by La Gumina – in both cases – for the Nerazzurri, who remain in fourth place. Bitter debut instead for Attilio Tesser on the bench of Triestina, overcome by Dolomiti Bellunesi in Fontanafredda: the penalty converted by Clemenza is worth the second success in three games since Bonatti (ex of the evening) arrived on the bench.

In group B, however, Giovanni Tedesco celebrated his first as coach of Perugia with the three points and regenerated it after 7 consecutive defeats: the 2-0 to Livorno came in the second half with Seghetti’s own goal (Kanoute’s shot hitting the goalkeeper’s back) and Montevago’s second goal, thus giving disappointment to the booed former Formisano. Riccardo Gaucci, who also returned to the club with the coach (they were together in Malta, at Floriana) and Walter Novellino, with the role of consultant, was expelled from the bench for protests. A nostalgia operation that has already borne the first fruits. At the end of the match Gaucci spoke to Umbria TV: “I think dad will also have suffered from up there. He will be happy and enjoying it, also for having seen so many people again at the stadium”.
