Slash, guitarist of Guns N’ Roses, was skeptical in an interview about a possible appearance at the spectacular concert location “Sphere”.

On the show “Trunk Nation” on “SiriusXM” host Eddie Trunk asked the musician about the interactive venue and asked if Guns N’ Roses would perform there.

Slash explained that he had never been to the “Sphere” but had only heard positive things about it. Still, he expressed concerns: “I’m pretty nervous about playing there because it’s a great visual show. I think for a band it’s almost always a visual show and not a rock ‘n’ roll concert.”

The guitarist also reported on a conversation with Joe Walsh from the Eagles, who have already performed at the “Sphere” several times and will be playing a few more gigs there until February. It was confirmed that the location was “not exactly rock’n’roll friendly”.

Slash added: “It’s just one of those things that seems really cool, conceptually you could probably do a lot of cool things there, but I don’t think it would be the right environment for a real rock ‘n’ roll show.”

Slash excited about Metallica’s possible Sphere appearance

The moderator then mentioned that Metallica was currently being discussed as a possible act. Slash responded with joy: “I would find that interesting too.” He noted that you have to prepare “mentally” for a performance in this location, as “50 percent” of the show consists of projections or the “outer wall” that “presents the content”.

However, Slash didn’t want to completely rule out his band appearing. He emphasized that it would be a different type of show as the audience would focus primarily on the visuals. He concluded: “So you have to prepare for it and I think it will be difficult for us to go that far. But let’s see – maybe later.”
