British journalist Stacey Dooley follows in the new one Rape trial– series for three years about three young women who have filed a criminal complaint for rape committed by a loved one. One of them is Jessienow 26.

He has written about Jessie’s fate, among other things The Daily Mail. The story recalls an April morning in 2021, when Jessie unexpectedly received a message on her Facebook. Contacted him Laurena woman named Jessie did know him, but they had never met each other.

– Lauren was my ex-boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend, Jessie opens up in the story.

Lauren told Jessie that her mutual ex-boyfriend had raped her twice. He mentioned that he knows another girl who was raped by the same man. The message shocked Jessie and brought her own traumas to the surface. Jessie had tried to forget the man’s actions: he had also raped Jessie, several times. But Jessie couldn’t keep quiet about her horror experiences anymore.

– It wasn’t just about me anymore. I knew I had to do something for the sake of the women who came before me and who came after me and who will come.

Stacey Dooley’s polemical statement regarding the documentary sparked a debate about UK rape convictions. Dooley stated that if she were raped, she would be unlikely to report it to the police. It was so painful to follow the journey of the women in the documentary. Colin Hutton, Yle

Jessie usually woke up to being raped in the morning.

– I remember the first time it happened. I asked him to stop. I asked why he does that. I was in a dream. But he didn’t stop. The same was repeated relatively often ritually.

Jessie describes how her attempts at conversion were futile. The man had more power.

– I explained to him that I didn’t like his work so that he would stop. But he didn’t stop. It continued until the end of our relationship. In the end I just pretended to be sleeping.

The rape trial, with its delays, will be very heavy for both Jessie and others. And the end result is not desired either.
