Diili winner Clarissa Hedman Pöysti got an addition to her family on Wednesday. Hedman Pöysti told about it on Instagram earlier on Sunday.

The new mother is now describing her mood to Iltalehte by phone. Hedman Pöysti and his family are still in the hospital at the time of the call, but the plan is to go home later on Sunday.

Hedman Pöysti is happy that the child was born healthy. According to her, the birth experience was violent and long.

– I could not have imagined that it would take so long and that it would take all the strength and resources, Hedman Pöysti says.

The birth did not go as expected. The regular contractions at Hedman Pöyst started on Monday evening. However, she and her husband decided to stay home because the Women’s Clinic was full.

– We live in Töölö and we could have just walked there, Hedman Pöysti states.

That same evening, Jorvi hospital was also full. The same situation was also on Tuesday.

– There was room in Hyvinkää and Lahti. It was about the same distance to both. We had heard positive experiences from Lahti, so we decided to go there, says Hedman Pöysti.

The birth was long and it finally happened while standing.

– The pool was a wish, but due to the prolonged opening, we had to use medicines and promote childbirth.

In the finals, Hedman Pöysti had to face painful contractions in an upright position.

– At that point, it seemed best to just stay standing and give birth. At some point the midwife said that if she could help me. I said I can’t move, that the baby will come now, Hedman Pöysti laughs.

From Hedman Pöyst, it’s wonderful to get home and start a new life.

– I feel like I never want to leave the baby bubble, says Hedman Pöysti.

Finally, Hedman Pöysti would like to thank the midwives and nursing staff.

– It seems absurd that maternity hospitals are being closed. The help and nursing staff here were incredible, concludes Hedman Pöysti.
