The 17-year-old Vandromme defeated the 16-year-old British Hannah Klugman in the semi-finals. He is number two in the junior rankings, six places higher in the rankings. The score was 6-4 and 6-2 for the West Flemish, who will compete for the final victory against the American Kristina Penickova (ITF 3) or the Slovakian Mia Pohankova (ITF 5).
Vandromme, one of the top talents in Belgian women’s tennis and number 479 in the WTA ranking (among seniors), is participating in the ITF World Tennis Tour Junior Finals for the second time. Last year she won the consolation final and finished third. This season, the Bruges native made an impression with, among other things, the overall victory at the US Open for juniors in singles.
The ITF World Tennis Tour Junior Finals are the counterpart of the ATP and WTA Finals for juniors.
