Norwegian skiing star Harald Amundsen27, blasted straight text about his Swedish rivals to Dagbladet.
– I think Swedes are cowards when it comes to skiing. Many of them are left out of a surprisingly large number of competitions, Amundsen criticized to the newspaper.
The Norwegian, who won two bronze medals and a relay gold at the World Championships in Trondheim, compares that the skiers of the neighboring country can afford to choose their competitions, because they do not have the same pressure as in the fjord country, where there is an abundance of top skiers.
– In Sweden, many people have the opportunity to go to the World Cup whenever they want. But it leads to many people actually skipping the games whenever they want. I don’t like that trend, Amundsen snarls.
He says that the fear of competing is noticeable especially in the Swedish men’s national team.
The cross-country skiing world cup season starts at the end of November in Ruka.
