The new Monster marks the fifth generation of a legend born in 1992. It changes everything, but remains faithful to the motto “everything you need, nothing more”. An 890 cc V2, 111 horsepower, 175 kg and a Superbike chassis in Bolognese style
It was the 1992 when Ducati invented the naked sports bike and, in fact, a different way of understanding the motorbike. The Monster it has always been a simple and brilliant idea: remove everything superfluous and leave what is needed to enjoy. Thirty-four years laterthat formula not only survives, but comes back more authentic than ever. The new Monster has been redesigned from scratch, but has retained therebellious soul which made millions of motorcyclists fall in love with it.
1 All new, but more Monster than ever
—
Model Year 2026 marks a complete rebirth. The design reinterprets the iconic features of the first in a modern key Monster: the headlight recessed between the “shoulders” of the tank, the one-piece saddle, the short tail. Leaner, more compact, more muscular. The riding position also changes: the handlebars are higher and more forward, the saddle lower and narrower. Translated: you drive better and you touch the ground without yoga.
2 A V2 heart that beats faster
—
Under the skin there is the new 890 cc 90° V2the lightest twin-cylinder ever built by Ducati: just 54.3kg. And not only is it light, but it is also smart: thanks to the variable timing distribution, it combines torque in the lows, thrust in the mids and wickedness in the highs. The result? 111 HP at 9,000 rpm and a torque curve as full as a plate of tagliatelle. All with intervals of 45,000 km maintenancerecord-breaking stuff for a twin-cylinder from Bologna.
3 Gym frame and chassis
—
The new Monster weighs 175 kg dryfour less than the previous model. Thanks to the aluminum monocoque frame and the double-sided swingarm inspired by that of the Panigale V4. The Showa suspension (43 mm diameter upside-down fork and adjustable shock absorber) are calibrated to be comfortable in the city while remaining efficient in mixed terrain. The result is a bike that promises to take turns easily, guaranteeing the stability that characterizes all Ducatis. And he thinks about stopping Brembowith M4.32 forceps and 320 mm diameter discs.
4 The right electronics (not too many)
—
Monster has always been about instinct and simplicity, but today it relies on a six-axis brain. The Imu 6D controls everything: ABS cornering, traction control, wheelie control, quickshifter and engine braking. Four riding modes (Sport, Road, Urban and Wet) transform the bike at the touch of a button. And thanks to 5″ TFT display with petal joystick (finally intuitive) you can go from one piece of information to another without a degree in electronic engineering.
5 Intelligent design and mechanical irony
—
Every detail has been studied to combine aesthetics and functionality. The tank maintains its “bison back” shapethe air intakes cool and increase the steering angle, the single seat streamlines the tail. Also the engine participates in the design: reduced piping and clean lines. It’s a naked that looks forward without forgetting its origins: beautiful, bad and with the right face.
6 Monster made to measure
—
Those who love to personalize will find what they’re looking for. Ducati Performance offers carbon accessories, billet aluminum parts and Termignoni silencers in titanium and carbon (-0.2 kg and +100 style points). There are also lowered saddles, cruise control, USB sockets, racing rear-view mirrors and everything needed to make friends say: “yours is different”.
