First date at the altar – there are only a few episodes left of the program and the time for the elections is approaching. In the tenth episode of the program, the couples discuss the biggest turning points.

The tenth episode can be watched from October 23 on the Katsomo+ service, and it will be shown on television on November 6.

Those who found a relationship in the program Mikko and Iina discuss the turning points in their lives over food. Mikko has already told that he was a part of the Jokela school murder when he was young, but in the episode he tells more about the situation.

Nine people lost their lives in a school shooting in November 2007. One of the dead was the attacker, an 18-year-old high school student who attended the same Jokela school center. The other victims were six high school students, the principal and the school center’s health nurse.

Mikko tells First date at the altar in the episode about the events of the school massacre.

– I was probably already quite depressed young and in a difficult situation. On top of that came the school massacre in Jokela. My classmate was this shooter, Mikko says seriously.

Mikko didn’t have many friends when he was young and he was depressed. The tragedy at school and surviving it forced me to deal with a lot of serious issues.

– About that [koulusurmasta] doesn’t really want to talk because he knows that it happened much worse to many others. I often get the feeling that what is he complaining about, Mikko continues.

– I noticed in myself many years later how it affected my own psyche. All kinds of fear states. I remember that even in university I sometimes did that when we went to class I didn’t sit near the door, Mikko tells his wife.

Mikko says that he has not always felt himself to be happy and he has no experience of happy youth and early adulthood. Moving abroad was a positive turning point in Miko’s life, which allowed him to leave the trauma of the school massacre behind.

– Living abroad alone for four years, it became clear what I want from life and who I am. Learn to trust that I can do things when I got through there too, Mikko concludes.
