In an effort to emit less CO2, Isala currently uses fewer sheets in the emergency department in Meppel and Zwolle. These are sheets used on a stretcher.
It saves Margriet Vroeg, a nurse in the emergency room, a lot of work making beds. But that is not the reason for this project. “We use a lot of sheets, blankets and laundry. That could really be done a little less here, from a green point of view,” she says. “It really means a lot. This project means that we will need 1,100 fewer sheets per year.”
