The past few weeks have been dominated by demonstrations against asylum policy. During those protests, asylum seekers, migrants and Dutch people of color were targeted. ‘Outside with the foreigners’ was shouted, everyone of color should leave the country. People with a migration background warned each other: don’t go into the city. NRC spoke to three people who feel: this is about me. Three people, very different. But they all wonder: is the Netherlands still my country?
