The Esplanade in Waregem is getting a complete makeover. The city will start this week with the reconstruction of the site, which is still largely paved today. The project is part of the large-scale renewal of the city center, following, among other things, the construction of the Zuiderpromenade and the renovation of the Het Pand shopping center.
“This zone will be completely demolished and redeveloped into a beautiful, green connection between Het Pand and the Regenboogpark,” says Mayor Kristof Chanterie. “There will be more greenery, new trees, a playground and walking paths leading to the shopping center. This way we will further expand the Regenboogpark.”
