Kia Lehmuskoski and Marko “Mörkö” Anttila were surprised at how much criticism Marko’s dance garnered.
Ex-ice hockey player Marko “Mörkö” Anttila and dance teacher Kia Lehmuskoski dance on Sunday Dancing with the stars – episode of the dramatic Paso Doble Apulanna Sand-to the tune of the song.
Especially the studio audience that was there, but also the viewers at home, loved the show.
– This is where we went, and it wasn’t meant to be! All the movements were done with full, full energy and without saving energy, judge Jorma Uotinen described.
Although Uotinen liked the performance, the judges Jukka Haapalainen and Helena Ahti-Hallberg found a lot to instruct in the dance. There was quite a bit to praise.
Haapalainen and Uotinen gave the dance seven points, while Ahti-Hallberg eight. The total points were therefore 22.
Dance teacher Lehmuskoski tells Iltalehte after the episode that he was surprised by the judges’ feedback and especially their negativity.
– I think the dance went really well, but I have to say that I was a bit disappointed with the judges’ standards this time. I somehow feel that an awful lot is required of Marko, and yet the situation is that he is a tall man and we have worked terribly hard every week, Lehmuskoski describes.
– Today I might have wished that Marko would have received a little more positive feedback for that hard work, Lehmuskoski adds.
Marko Anttila doesn’t mind negative feedback. MATTI MATIKAINEN
Anttila herself would also have liked more positive feedback.
– I feel like I reached the upper line of my own level today and improved many things. We worked a lot in terms of rhythm and music and this was a good step towards that. Opintie is still strong, but maybe it would have been nice to get a mention of the things that also worked there in the dance, says Anttila after the broadcast.
During his life, the hockey player who ended his career has heard a lot of feedback, instructions and even criticism about his work as an athlete. Anttila says that the feedback from the TTK judges doesn’t feel “out of place” in that sense.
– I have always accepted feedback as just one opinion. Whether it’s from a person on the street or a judge here, it’s one person’s opinion. However, there is a seed in it that you can realize something yourself and develop. There is also unnecessary criticism, but you can always learn from it, says Anttila.
