Hamas rejects US allegation over truce violation
Hamas rejects allegations that the group is about to violate the ceasefire with Israel over Gaza. According to Hamas, the allegations, reported by the US State Department, are incorrect.
The ministry in Washington pointed out in a statement to “reliable” reports that Hamas is preparing an attack against Palestinian civilians in Gaza. That would be a direct and serious violation of the ceasefire agreement. It also undermines the important progress that has been made, the department said.
Washington announced measures to protect the people of Gaza and guarantee the ceasefire in case Hamas continues its preparations. In recent days there have been reports that Hamas had executed people alleged to have collaborated with the enemy Israel. The terrorist group is again active in urban areas cleared by the Israeli forces. Hamas is demonstrating its regained power with public executions and confrontations with armed clans.
Hamas claims that Israeli authorities in Gaza are forming, arming and financing criminal gangs that commit murders, kidnappings and engage in looting. The Hamas-controlled police in Gaza would do their duty by pursuing these gangs to hold them accountable. The terrorist group calls on the US government to stop “repeating the misleading narrative of the occupying forces”.
US President Trump recently said he would consider allowing Israeli forces to resume fighting in Gaza if Hamas does not adhere to the deal he brokered.
