Defending champion Syntainics MBC was already eliminated in the BBL Cup in the round of 16.

After a bye in the first round, the Weißenfels team, unbeaten leaders in the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) after four games, lost clearly 78:105 (46:50) in the new edition of the final on February 16th against the BMA365 Bamberg Baskets in their own hall.

Especially in the third quarter, almost nothing came together for head coach Marco Ramondino’s team; the extremely accurate former series champion Bamberg – 63 percent from the field in the entire game – won this section 33:16 and pulled ahead.

The top scorer of the game was MBC guard Charles Callison with 29 points. Cobe Williams (22 points) was the most successful for Bamberg.

In the second game of the day, the EWE Baskets Oldenburg, cup winners in 2015, prevailed against the Würzburg Baskets with 61:60 (38:34).
