October 19 – 00:04 – GENOA

An outdoor stage dedicated to sport for everyone, in one of the most famous bays in Liguria for surfing. See you next Saturday, 25 October, on the Bettolo seafront in Recco for the “Liguria Active Day”, the first event in the square dedicated to sport, launched by the Liguria Region and organized with Gazzetta Active and in collaboration with the Municipality of Recco. The event (free to attend, by reservation) is part of the activities introduced as part of “Liguria 2025 – European Region of Sport”, after the great success of last year in which Genoa, with over a thousand events, boasted the title of European capital of sport. This time the initiatives have been extended to the entire regional territory and on this occasion the Lungomare Bettolo in Recco will be transformed into an open-air gym, with free lessons and activities for all ages and all levels of preparation. This is one of the most significant initiatives promoted by the regional administration: “We are proud – explained the regional councilor for sport Simona Ferro – to create an event that enhances the social and aggregative role of sport and promotes healthy and active lifestyles, making everyone protagonists: citizens, associations and local communities. It is a project destined to grow and become a stable event in the area, thanks also to the collaboration with Gazzetta Active and the Municipality of Recco to make it an increasingly popular event year after year.”

RICH PROGRAM

The Liguria Active Day will start at 2pm with Fitsurfing together with Dario Nuzzi, followed at 3pm by a yoga session with Caterina Patimo (The Exit Strategy). Then, at 4pm, Olympic champion Clemente Russo (two world gold medals and two Olympic silver medals in boxing) will lead a functional training lesson, while at 5pm the multi-medallist captain of the national rhythmic gymnastics team, Alessia Maurelli, will lead a meeting dedicated to flexibility. Surf Training activities with Blackwave are also planned, organized by Andrea Lamorte and Jacopo Costa. The day will end with a talk on wellbeing and training, again with the participation of Clemente Russo and Alessia Maurelli. “The “Liguria Active Day” represents a recognition of the profound sporting vocation of our city – the comment of the mayor of Recco, Carlo Gandolfo -. The Lungomare Bettolo will be transformed into a center of energy and well-being, an outdoor gym where citizens and visitors of all ages will be able to discover the pleasure of a healthy and active lifestyle”. Recco has always boasted a long sporting tradition at high levels, with true excellences such as the Pro Recco water polo. Thanks to the collaboration with Gazzetta Active, the initiative will be accompanied by editorial and social coverage, with content, reels and online storytelling that will tell the story of the day and its protagonists. As Gianluca Varano, digital development directory of the Gazzetta dello Sport, reiterated, “with Liguria Active Day we bring sport close to people, making it truly accessible to everyone”.
