More and more people are finding their way to the thrift store. In 2024, reuse increased by 7%, good for 6.3 kilos per Flemish person. West Flanders has 34 thrift stores and more than 1,000 employees.
The thrift stores have exchanged their dusty image for a fresh and attractive appearance. Visitors could also visit an antique dealer for an estimate of the value of their finds. Kringwinkel ‘t Rad in Oostkamp wants to show that reuse can not only be sustainable, but also inspiring.
