Maria Veitola tells on social media how it was not to recognize herself from an advertising picture from years ago.

Presenter Maria Veitola, 52, published a picture on her Instagram account that made some followers rub their eyes.
Based on the publication text, Veitola himself sometimes has to do this as well.
– Sometimes you look at yourself and think: is that really me? he writes.
She says that she was a hair model when she was younger and that she was very excited about the opportunity.
– I was really excited about the end result – how sculptural, how wonderful!
– One day I was standing on the street and staring at myself in a giant picture in the window of a trendy hair salon. But what the hell? It was me, but it wasn’t me, Veitola continues.
He tells how in that picture his nose had changed considerably. It had apparently been blurred with an image processing program.
– As a teenager, I hated my nose. In my twenties I had already accepted my sculpted features, but clearly for someone deciding on hair model photos, my nose had been a problem. Shame on you. I had been elected, but I still wasn’t quite good enough, Veitola writes.
Veitola also talks about it in a recent episode of the With Veitola podcast, where she wonders if anyone would have thought that her nose would steal attention from her hair.
The topic has attracted a lot of comments. Many people write that they wouldn’t recognize Veitola from that picture.

Over the years, Veitola has tried many different styles for her hair. She also says that she once had her eyebrows cut off, which caused a strong reaction in her ex-boyfriend.
– My boyfriend at the time got so angry with me that he didn’t talk to me for a week because of it and didn’t agree to go anywhere with me. He said directly that he was ashamed of me and that I looked terrible, she says.
