Viticulture is mainly successful between the 30th and 50th parallel, in both the northern and southern hemispheres. The Vitse-Boydens wine estate is located on the 51st parallel, which makes it quite challenging. But climate change works in favor of winemaker Pieter Vitse here. There is also the salty sea wind that protects the grapes from mold, because diseases blow from the vineyard.
