BVB star to Bayern? That’s what Eberl says

Before the classic, there are rumors about FC Bayern’s interest in a BVB star. In addition to the experts, those responsible are now also commenting on this.
Before FC Bayern’s top game on Saturday evening (from 6:30 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online) against Borussia Dortmund, one name in particular is increasingly making the headlines: Nico Schlotterbeck. The BVB star is increasingly being linked with a possible move to Munich.
Immediately before the new edition of the classic against BVB, FC Bayern tried to downplay speculation about interest in the Dortmund defense chief – at least in public. “I won’t comment on an opponent’s player before a game like this,” said sports director Max Eberl. “I think we have very good central defenders with Jonathan Tah, Min-jae Kim, with Upa.”
And it is precisely Dayot Upamecano who is the focus of the German record champions’ future planning, as Eberl emphasized. “That’s the big issue for us: the Upa extension. That’s what matters most to us.” The contract of the French national player, in which there is great interest from international competition and Real Madrid is said to be interested, expires after this season.
“If certain topics present themselves differently, then you will go to the market and look at the market,” said Eberl. But there is “no comment from me today” about Schlotterbeck. Coach Vincent Kompany also said before the big game: “I only see Schlotterbeck as an opponent tomorrow.”
However, the 25-year-old Schlotterbeck is still considered a hot transfer candidate at FC Bayern. And not just in the event that Upamecano actually leaves the club for free at the end of the season. Former Bayern captain Thomas Helmer strongly recommends that his former club transfer the national player.
