Frédéric De Gucht is, as expected, the new chairman of Open VLD. De Gucht won the presidential elections convincingly with 91 percent of the votes, ahead of Francis Uyttebrouk (6 percent) and Filip Walleyn (3 percent).
Filip Walleyn, manager of EU Work Force, which arranges Polish workers for the construction and metal industry, as a noble unknown could not compete with the established value: Frédéric De Gucht, son of Karel and brother of Jean-Jacques, comes from a real political family.
