Actor Jukka Rasila, 56, says Just kidding! podcast that he has made major life changes and experienced significant spiritual growth in recent years.
– A day before I turned fifty, I was a dick and after that I started to grow, he jokes.
Rasila says that she used to look at life from a very different perspective. According to him, at that time he just wanted “people to leave him alone” and “let him drink alcohol in peace”.
However, a day before his 50th birthday, the actor made a complete change – he decided to stop drinking and smoking for a long time. Rasila says that both were real problems for her.
– I had to quit smoking. I had already been diagnosed with the beginnings of COPD before, and a couple of years ago it was confirmed that I have COPD. I have the tip of my left lung in necrosis and it will never recover from that.
Health Library almost the only cause of COPD is smoking. Therefore, stopping smoking is a key part of the treatment of the disease. Stopping can have a very significant effect on the course of COPD.
COPD is divided into degrees of severity based on how much lung function has weakened and what symptoms the patient has. The GOLD classification is usually used, which is based on the lung blowing test and the number of symptoms and exacerbations.
Rasila says that she has secondary medicines for the disease.
– Basically, I am being treated for asthma. It is an opening and treating (medicine), Rasila tells about the treatment.
Host Heikki Vilja asks Rasila if her illness will get worse from its current state.
– I hope it won’t get worse, Rasila answers.
However, Rasila says that she is incredibly happy that she does not have lung cancer.
Jukka Rasila and his Mirva-their loved ones got married on September 11 at the Helsinki City Hall. Only Rasila’s adult children were there as witnesses.
