Carlos CarballoHow were your beginnings in your profession?
I began my work experience as a cadet. I learned to take the opportunities they offered me and always give my best to grow in each of the jobs I had. That’s how I really realized that I wanted to have something of my own, something of my own that identified me. First I started with some partners until I managed to create Slovenia and then Erik joined, who is my current partner.
What are the services you provide to the public?
We have two men’s clothing stores located at Calle Laprida 381 in Lomas de Zamora and at Av. San Martín 3651 in Lanús Oeste. We have factory prices and personalized attention and advice from their own owners. You can find more classic style garments such as shirts, jackets and pleated pants and also urban ones such as oversized t-shirts, baggy jeans and sweatshirts. In addition, we have accessories, caps and many more products.
How do you project yourself in the medium term?
Growing even more. This month we have a new project where we are going to give a free course for people who want to start a business, but don’t know how to start. So, we put together a course in our Slovenia Academy to explain basic points of sales, stock, networks, marketing and more. The first date is September 24 in person at our location. The idea is that they come with doubts to provide them with all the possible tools to start their own path and, if it is with the help of the Slovenia Family, much better. So, in the medium term I see myself doing more courses and helping many people develop.
What are your differentials in the sector?
We wanted to have competitive and wholesale prices in the South Zone because there are none, but with all the facilities for people to come to our store, try on, be able to change everything and have interest-free installments, etc. So, we focus on that, on giving the best shopping experience to the people of Zona Sur by focusing on personalized attention and offering a different service to the Flores stores.
If you were starting over, what would you do differently?
Maybe not trust so much in the promises of others and believe more in my potential. But you learn from all experiences, even those that are not so good. Wisdom comes from mistakes made.
