The offensive player is apparently leaning towards staying with the German record champions. According to a report, he decided to take an unusual step.

Serge Gnabry is currently experiencing a sporting upswing at FC Bayern and has already been involved in seven goals in ten competitive games so far this season (three goals, four assists). The 30-year-old is an integral part of the starting line-up of coach Vincent Kompany’s team – there are only question marks over his future. Because Gnabry’s contract with the German record champions expires next summer.

But “Bild” now reports: The national player has already made a groundbreaking decision. Accordingly, Gnabry is thinking about extending his contract with the Munich team – and is said to be willing to accept a salary loss in order to stay at the club. At least that’s what the paper’s “Bayern Insider” podcast reports.

And further: Gnabry currently feels so comfortable at Bayern that the salary alone is not the deciding factor. What’s more: The attacker, who currently reportedly earns between 17 and 20 million euros per season, is said to want to accommodate the club when it comes to his annual salary – if higher performance-related bonuses could be negotiated in return. However, it is far from clear whether there will actually be a salary waiver.

Gnabry moved from Werder Bremen to Bayern in 2017 for eight million euros. In 295 competitive games so far, the former Arsenal talent has scored 96 goals and prepared a further 66 goals. With the Munich team, Gnabry won the Champions League in 2020, the Club World Cup in 2021, as well as six German championships and the DFB Cup twice.
