Jan Slagter, the boss of Omroep MAX, is angry that news about his new program with Paul de Leeuw has already been published. “Then there is a bit of wine in it and then they become a bit loose-lipped.”
The AD made a big deal yesterday on the show page: Paul de Leeuw will get a new major TV program on NPO 1. He will make a program under the banner of Omroep MAX in which he will go on holiday to Benidorm in Spain with people with dementia, producer Marius van Duijn of Mediawan Skyhigh revealed in the newspaper.
Sore leg
Story boss Guido den Aantrekker tells the desk Show news that it was actually not the intention for this to come out at all. “It’s a bit of a strange story, because no one actually wanted to say anything about it, but in the end the producer started talking his mouth off a bit.”
The magazine maker is therefore referring to Marius from Mediawan Skyhigh. “They make very nice programs, such as Over Mijn Lijk and Hallo Goodbye, and he told the AD that Paul de Leeuw is going to make a program with demented people and their loved ones. That was actually completely against Jan Slagter’s sore leg.”
Just a moment
Jan is really pissed off about this, Guido explains. “We know Jan. He would actually have preferred to choose his own moment and show it off.”
He concludes: “We called Jan and he was not amused. Paul de Leeuw did not want to respond at all, because he probably calmed down right away. Jan Slagter said: ‘Yes, that’s what happens with a producer like that, right? Then there’s a bit of wine in it and then they get a little loose-lipped.’”
