EUROJET and NETMA sign contract for 52 new EJ200 engines
for the Eurofighter program of the German Air Force (PHOTO)
Manching (ots) – EUROJET Turbo GmbH (EUROJET), which is responsible for the Eurofighter
The consortium responsible for the EJ200 engine installed on Typhoon has a contract today
with the NATO Eurofighter & Tornado Management Agency (NETMA) about the delivery
of 52 new EJ200 engines for the German Air Force.
The contract for the supply of EJ200 engines for a new order
of Eurofighter Typhoon fighter aircraft of the tranche 5 was in Manching between
Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Simon Ellard (ret.), General Manager of NETMA, and Ralf
Breiling, CEO of EUROJET, signed. The engine modules will be on site
manufactured by the four partner companies of the EUROJET consortium: MTU Aero
Engines, Rolls-Royce, ITP Aero and Avio Aero. As a partner of the German
Air Force MTU Aero Engines will take over the final assembly of the engines. The
Delivery to German customers is scheduled to begin in 2030.
This order is a significant milestone that represents the unshakable
Confidence in the Eurofighter platform and its continued performance
of their EJ200 engines confirmed. He doesn’t just underline that
advanced performance and long-term sustainability of these
powerful technology, but also strengthens the position of the European
