Ailing electric bus manufacturer Ebusco delivered 39 buses in the third quarter of this year, the same number as in the previous quarter. The company did not announce financial results on Wednesday.

The company expects “at least an equal number of deliveries” for the fourth quarter, it said in a press statement. According to Ebusco, the sales figures provide ‘further evidence’ that the company is making progress ‘in its recovery to a stable business’.

At the same time, Ebusco says it is still finalizing its 2024 annual accounts. “Once completed, Ebusco will provide a status update on its financial situation.”

Short of money
After delivery problems, Ebusco found itself in acute financial need last year when carrier Qbuzz canceled an order. In November, the company was temporarily saved from collapse after the issuance of shares raised tens of millions.

This year, Ebusco was almost bankrupt again, after a supplier filed a bankruptcy application for the company due to unpaid bills. After millions of euros came in from a lender, the application was withdrawn.

The board then saw bright spots. The fact that buses had been delivered again would be essential for regaining customer confidence.
