Several members of the ACV at the De Lijn depot in Kortrijk have stopped work in protest against the dismissal of a bus driver. The incident took place last Thursday in Mouscron, when a traveler wanted to let her child play with safety equipment on the bus.
The driver repeatedly pointed this out to the woman, but according to ACV the situation got out of hand. “When the driver returned a little later to continue his journey, he was attacked from behind by the same traveler,” says Bart Reyns, secretary of ACV Public Services Transport. “He is clearly the victim and not the perpetrator.”
