A customer found heavy fireworks near the ‘t Haasje gas station on the A2 near Maarheeze on Saturday evening: two Cobras 6. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service EOD was called in to secure the explosives.
The customer handed over the Cobras 6 to one of the cashiers. He placed the Cobras in a bucket of water and alerted the emergency services. They cordon off the area.
The EOD arrived at the gas station with sirens blaring and secured the explosives. The petrol pump was released around a quarter past eleven and the employees could resume their work.
