The basketball players at FC Bayern Munich have found their way back to success after a major defeat in the Euroleague. Two days after the 70:98 defeat against Zalgiris Kaunas, the German champions defeated the Bamberg Baskets 96:81 (52:42) in the Basketball Bundesliga. This means Bayern remain undefeated in the BBL after three games.
Bayern were strong offensively at the start: World and European champion Andreas Obst took their first double-digit lead (20:8) after six and a half minutes, and by the quarter break the hosts had pulled away to 32:13. Shortly before the break, Bayern lost the thread, but with an 11-0 run, Bamberg reduced the lead to 42:52.

When the guests came close, the Munich team often responded with threes – including two and a half minutes before the end when Justinian Jessup decisively increased the score to 92:74. Andreas Obst scored five times from outside and led Bayern with 21 points.
Newly promoted Trier remains undefeated
The Vet-Concept Gladiators Trier continue to cause a sensation as newcomers. With a 78:73 (37:37) home win over the Basketball Löwen Braunschweig, the Trier team also won their fourth league game. In the past ten years, only Würzburg (2015/16) and Rostock (2022/23) have started a season with four wins as promoted teams.
In a duel between two previously winless teams in the BBL, the Rostock Seawolves defeated the MLP Academics Heidelberg 90:79 (40:40) thanks to a strong final quarter. Heidelberg and Braunschweig currently occupy the two relegation places after four defeats from four games.
