The Eisbären Berlin are continuing their successful streak in the DEL. National player Marcel Noebels returned to the team after a long injury break.

The Eisbären Berlin won their fourth DEL game in a row 3-2 against the Nuremberg Ice Tigers on Sunday. In front of 14,055 spectators in the arena at Ostbahnhof, the German champions started the first third cautiously. The guests created more chances in the opening period. Berlin’s Lean Bergmann hit the crossbar shortly before half-time.

In the second period, Bergmann scored his first goal of the season to take the lead in the 27th minute. Leonhard Pföderl extended the lead in the 34th minute. Former polar bear Constantin Braun shortened the score for Nuremberg in the 36th minute after a Berlin defensive mistake.

After unused opportunities on both sides, Ty Ronning scored in the 50th minute to make it 3-1. Tyler Spezia brought the Franks close again three minutes later. The polar bears defended their narrow lead until the end.

The victory not only marked the continuation of Berlin’s successful streak, but also the return of national player Marcel Noebels after his injury break. Attacker Yannick Veilleux was also back in the squad after his ban had expired.
