Toprak will claim his 3rd world championship if he can get an 18-point lead over Nicolo Bulega in today’s second main race.

In the penultimate stage of the 2025 season of the World Superbike Championship, the 10-lap Superpole race of the weekend was run on the Estoril Circuit, which is 4,182 kilometers long.

Red Bull athlete Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, who started the race from the first row with the ROKiT BMW Motorrad team, took the race leadership as a result of his fight with Italian Nicolo Bulega from the Aruba Ducati team at the beginning of the second lap after the first lap. Although the rivalry between Toprak and Bulega continued until the end of the race, Toprak also won the Superpole race in Portugal, making it 2 out of 2.

Toprak, who won his 21st victory this season and his 78th victory in his career and is known as “El Turco” by race fans around the world, performed the National Anthem for the second time this week at the Estoril Circuit and took a victory lap with the Turkish flag after the race.

With this result, Toprak increased the point difference with his closest rival in the general classification to 44 (560) and will claim his 3rd world championship if he can make an 18-point difference over Nicolo Bulega, who is in second place in the general classification with 516 points, in the second main race in Portugal today. Italian Danilo Petrucci from the Barni Spark Racing team is in third place in the general classification with 284 points.

In the Superpole race in Portugal, Italian Nicolo Bulega from the Aruba Ducati team finished in second place, and the other rider of the Aruba Ducati team, Spanish Alvaro Bautista, finished in third place.

Bahattin Sofuoğlu, one of the national motorcyclists, completed the Superpole race in Estoril in the World Superbike Championship with the Yamaha Motoxracing team in 14th place.

Athletes will step on the gas in the second race of the weekend in the 2025 World Superbike Championship today at 16.00 GMT.

“MY GOAL IS TO MAKE A HAT-TRICK”

Speaking after the race, Toprak Razgatlıoğlu said: “It was a very difficult race. Nicolo pushes me a lot, and I push him too. This race was very important to me. I was focused on winning and I won. My goal is to win again. I couldn’t score a hat-trick here last year. That’s why my goal will be to score a hat-trick. I’m sure everyone will have fun in the second race because we will have a very close fight with Nicolo again.”
