Wouter de Winther is sad for Renze Klamer that his TV career is in the ditch, but agrees with the viewers who have been zapped away en masse. “I never watch RTL Tonight either.”

Renze Klamer’s TV career is on life support: the presenter once seemed the great promise of RTL 4, but is now the channel’s flop king. RTL Tonight scores even worse with him at the helm than it did with Beau van Erven Dorens. Of course, it cannot be otherwise than that Renze is pissed off at his boss Peter van der Vorst.

‘It’s really sad’

Telegraaf journalist Wouter de Winther thinks RTL Tonight is simply not relevant. “I feel bad for the people who work there, because I know them, but I don’t look myself. It’s not current, it’s not really journalism, it’s about all kinds of things that don’t really interest me,” he says in Today Inside.

Johan Derksen then: “But they have taken away the best interpreters from us. No, not you, but they have taken away a few interpreters from us, but I see all kinds of ignoramuses sitting at that desk. Then I think: why is he there?”

‘It’s difficult’

Wouter is not impressed by the panel members of RTL Tonight. “I don’t know who everyone is either. That’s difficult, because they no longer do an introduction round at the beginning, so now you don’t know who it is anymore.”

Johan had coffee yesterday with Lale Gül, who switched from VI to RTL Tonight. Why? Will she come back? “No, no, no, but I’m going to do fun things with Lale.”

‘Done!’

René van der Gijp cannot imagine that RTL Tonight will remain on the channel for much longer. “One has to be the child of the bill,” he says.

Even TV fanatic Gijp no longer watches Renze. “When I get home tonight, I’ll watch Eva and Jeroen Pauw for a bit and then I’ll be done with it.”
