During the presentation of his book “The Construction of the Miracle” at the Movistar Arena, President Javier Milei attracted attention not only for his speech, but also for his clothing. In his editorial “Edibordial” on October 7 on the BLENDER channel, journalist Tomás Rebord questioned the president’s choice to wear a jacket with three leather jackets in a stadium with high temperatures.
Rebord stated: “I swear that the day the chip fell on me was the day they convinced me to make a joke with three jackets. This was the only time in my life that I put on three jackets and when I put on the third one I said: ‘this doesn’t make any sense’ and that’s when I thought: the president makes decisions every day after making these four decisions in a row. They are four decisions that can only go together: jacket 1, 2, 3, 4. He starts every day of your life from that starting point. “Everything is wrong.” The segment, which racked up thousands of views on YouTube, sparked debate about the presidential image.
The Movistar Arena event combined politics and spectacle. Accompanied by “La Banda Presidencial”, with deputy Lilia Lemoine as backing vocalist, Milei performed covers of Charly García (“Demoliendo Hoteles”), Sandro (“Dame el fuego de tu amor”), Nino Bravo (“Libre”), among others, in an event that lasted until 11 p.m. The president paid tribute to the victims of the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023 and presented his book with the presence of Karina Milei, Patricia Bullrich and Manuel Adorni. Held 20 days before the legislative elections, the event sought to strengthen support for La Libertad Avanza in the midst of the scandal over José Luis Espert’s “narcogate.”
Rebord’s comment alluded to a previous episode in September 2025, when Milei attended the La Libertad Avanza bunker in La Plata, after the electoral defeat against Axel Kicillof, wearing four jackets in a heated space. In his analysis, Rebord questioned how the choice of clothing reflects the president’s decision-making, pointing out a contrast between Milei’s public image and the political challenges of his administration in an electoral and crisis context.
