Brazilian soldiers have rescued an injured jaguar from the Rio Negro, a major tributary of the Amazon. The predator was visibly weakened and had been struggling against drowning for hours. The above footage shows soldiers throwing a makeshift mattress into the water, which the animal happily clings to. The predator is so exhausted that it even allows itself to be petted by its rescuers.
