Trump announces first phase peace plan between Israel and Hamas, release of first hostages expected on Monday

Hamas and Israel have agreed on the first phase of a peace deal. US President Donald Trump, who announced the deal on the night of Wednesday to Thursday Belgian time on his own platform Truth Social, calls it a “great day for the world”. The Israeli hostages may be released on Saturday or Monday.
