Petra season 3 on Sky, plot and previews of the first episode on 8 October
On an evening like many others, Beatrice (Manuela Mandracchia) she returns home to her husband, deputy inspector Antonio Monte (Andrea Pennacchi) but she is reached by a phone call: someone has entered the conventsponsored by his family, and stole a precious seventeenth-century statuette. Inspector Petra Delicato goes to the scene (Cortellesi). Sister Adriana (Laura Marinoni), the mother superior, he shows her the small chapel where the wooden sculpture was located, a relic much loved by the faithful. Suddenly, they hear a cell phone ringtone coming from the crypt and find the body of a man.
It is Arturo Tarsi, the restorer who was taking care of the frescoes of the church. Petra speaks with the novices Claudia, Ines and Elisabetta, whose cells are located not far from the place where the body was found. None of them, however, seem to have heard any suspicious noise. Sister Adriana explains that he had been recommended to him by the curia, and he was a respectable person. Finally he adds that Beatrice, a few days before the crime, had withdrawn the bank transfer for the restoration of the crypt: she didn’t want Tarsi to take care of it.
Although reluctant, Beatrice explains the motivation to Petra: despite being a married man, they had had an affair for a few years. He had manipulated, exploiting his Genoa friendships well to make a name for himself as an art expert. As soon as he met Antonio, he ended the story. The man, however, continued to torment her for other favors. A witness appears: that evening, he saw a man leaving the chapel holding a bag with the coat of arms of a football team. From bank checks, it appears that Tarsi had several financial problems. Perhaps the thief had an agreement with the restorer and the theft was on commission for an unscrupulous collector.

Petra 3: the cast and how many episodes there are in the new season
Living together with Marco (Francesco Colella) and their 3 children, the twins and little Marina, is not exactly a bed of roses. Accustomed to solitude, silence and the sole presence of her spider, Petra struggles to live in the midst of that cheerful confusion. She feels uncomfortable while the boys are curious and ask her a thousand questions about her work. They want to know everything about murders and serial killers. Meanwhile, the police track down the thief, who unfortunately has just died for an overdose.
His name was Stefano Cremaschi, he had left a recovery community and worked in a bar near the university. In all likelihood, Tarsi had hired him, for a fee, to steal the statuette. Maybe they had had an argument over the fee and Stefano had killed him. With that money, he had bought the lethal dose of heroin. At the funeral, Petra glimpses one of the 3 young nuns of the convent.
Also in the two episodes of the third season directed by Maria Sole Tognazzi, co-written by Giulia Calenda, Furio Andreotti, Ilaria Macchia and the collaboration of Paola Cortellesi, Petra continues to maintain a deep connection with the works of her inventor literary, Alicia Giménez-Bartlett. Likewise, a winning team cannot be changed: together with the protagonist the ineffable Andrea Pennacchi returns, the actor Matteo Sintucci (agent Reva) and Antonio Zavatteri (inspector Pessone).
Laura Marinoni is added to the cast: it’s Sister Adriana, ready to do anything to defend her young novices. In the next episode, there will be an exceptional guest star: Francesco Acquaroli. The excellent interpreter, just saw it in Sara – The woman in the shadow And The twisted tale of Amanda Knoxwill be a character from the past. The second and final episode of the third season will air on Wednesday 15 October exclusively on Sky Cinema and NOW.
The ending of the first episode (spoilers): will there be a season 4?
Petra is so caught up in the case that she forgets Marco’s birthday and arrives late to his party. He doesn’t get angry but by now it is clear to both of them that the woman’s restlessness is a wake-up call. When in the convent the statuette materializes, everyone thinks that the case is closed. Only Antonio and the inspector are not convinced that this is really the case. Finally, they get to the truth. Elisabetta had an affair with Stefano: she became pregnant and chose to have an abortion. To have her unborn child always near, he placed it in an urn and buried it in the chapel’s crypt.
When the restoration work began, for fear of it being discovered, she asked Stefano to help her take the urn away. Surprised by Tarsi, Stefano hit him, killing him unintentionally. To cover up the murder, they faked the art theft but the feeling of guilt was so strong that the young man started taking drugs again until he died. Petra leaves Marco and moves again in his old house among the trees.
He can’t help but follow his nature: «Antonio, in your opinion I am a free woman?» “at the limits of the tolerable”. Petra 4 will it be done? Although there is no official confirmation yet, probable excellent ratings of the third season could kick off the new adventures of the proven Cortellesi & Pennacchi coupleto the delight of all their fans.
