The team of coach Ulrich Landvreugd decided the game in Gelredome in Arnhem after more than half an hour of playing with two hits within a few minutes. In the second half, Vitesse did everything to come back, but got no further than a goal from Marco Schikora in the 88th minute. Vitesse remains the latter in the stand.
Kévin Monzialo gave the visitors ahead in the 33rd minute. The striker worked a cross by Nick de Groot behind goalkeeper Connor van den Berg. Monzialo made his seventh league goal. Barely two minutes later, Chahid El Allachi got the ball after a pass from Thijs van Leeuwen for the feet and worked out effectively.
Vitesse was the better in the second half and increased the pressure on Den Bosch. Goalkeeper Pepijn van de Merbel saved time and time again, until Schikora hit a corner towards the end of the game.
