Insurers have received dozens of damage reports as a result of the Storm Amy, which raged over our country last weekend. In an initial estimate, the claims ensure a cost item of around 70,000 euros distributed throughout the country. 140 reports arrived at Interpolis, especially from Noord-Brabant and South Holland.
The strong wind led roof tiles to release and covered things in and around gardens. That happened throughout the province, where Noordoost-Brabant remained somewhat out of shot. Amy did not cause really great damage in our province.
Insurer Nationale-Nederlanden (NN) have also reported a few dozen people with damage nationwide. At that insurer, most claims had to do with precipitation, which caused leakage, for example. Univé received about seventy storm and water damage. For example, this was a blown roof tiles and water that came in, mainly from the north of the country.
Tail of Humberto
The KNMI had announced code yellow for the entire country on Saturday due to heavy gusts of wind. Trees blew around and outdoor events had to be canceled. It has also rained hard in a number of places. The storm was a tail of Hurricane Humberto, which originated last week in the western part of the tropical Atlantic Ocean.
The Dutch Association of Insurers (the umbrella body of all insurers in the country, ed.) Did not give an estimate of the storm damage on Monday.
