Thomas Müller celebrated his 35th title this week. But the game offered another highlight for the German world champion.
The Canadian Championship was number 35. Thomas Müller is finally the German footballer with the most titles. The triumph at the Canadian championship, a competition in cup format, achieved a 4-2 victory by Müller’s Vancouver Whitecaps against city rival Vancouver FC.
Müller was also successful, it was the 300th goal of his career. The Whitecaps then gave the 2014 world champion with a small cake on which “300 goals” (300 goals) was written. Müller was handed over to the pastry on the lawn.
The 36-year-old reacted with a questioning look and then grinning mischievously: “300 goals? Did you count the goals from the training sessions?”
Then he accepted the cake and deceived to bite directly into it. The celebrations should not go for too long. For Vancouver, the next game is scheduled for the San José Earthquakes in the MLS on Monday.
