The Tart Social Publication, which opened yesterday, has received more publicity than anyone would have believed.

The Tart’s interior is British -style. The tart ,.

Although not all some commentators seem to understand it, entrepreneurs Tanja Löppönen and Aki Arjola They knew what they were doing when they named their restaurant.

They also knew how to be prepared for the message. Still, the magnitude of the reaction surprised me.

– The social update we put in yesterday has gone off, Löppönen laughs on the phone.

He states that, of course, they know that Tarta also means cheerful girl, a lump, a whore, a gate.

The Tart name was even tested by British friends, but they didn’t consider it bad at all. Löppönen thinks that Tartu in the Finnish ear apparently sounds worse than an Englishman.

According to Tanja Löppönen, the logo resembles the 1980s cult series Fame Logo: “We are a barracks, so that’s just great. Now we got a good Fame.” The tart

Everything went from the pie, the genuine British pie. Restaurant Tarti’s premises used to be Hans Välimäki The Rook restaurant that mimics the British pub.

– We wanted to continue with the British line. One of our favorite food is the popular Shepherd’s Pie. I suggested that if our name was The Pie. However, my husband Aki Arjola thought the name must definitely be The Tart.

The name remained the ultimate, with the fact that staff should be able to listen to the jokes that have been twisted for years. In the end, the staff themselves began to twist the name humor before any customer had time to do it. The Tart and Old Bart (cheerleader and old fart) are already playful among the staff.

Entrepreneurial couple Aki Arjola and Tanja Löppönen also run the Puotila Manor. The tart

– Our logo looks a bit fart. This goes with British humor, this is not so serious. It’s fun to follow somebody’s discussion and how much it has sparked comments. This is not the worst to get curse words.

However, in the Tart, Tart means first and foremost a pie. The restaurant offers both salty and sweet pie every day. In the British kitchen, the pie has a solid position.

The Tart menu has been thought together together with a kitchen manager Ville Öhmann and restaurant manager Ville Viljanen with. Inspiration has been sought from Scotland and London. In addition to self-baked pies, the list includes Scottish fish soup Culle Skink, a deer burgher, Reuben bread on the deer.

According to Löppönen, sweet pies, in particular, are loyal to the British kitchen.

Löppönen and Airola are the Manor of Puotila, who has been running for six years, where the largest season is in the summer. In the autumn, Puotila has pumpkin weeks and a month of Christmas lunch. Thanks to The Tart, they are able to employ staff during the quieter winter.
