Chef Risto Mikkola admits to being bad in the past to eat breakfast.
– At home, I could only drink a glass of water and then went to work where I was just refueling coffee. At lunch, I was hungry, says Mikkola.
For some reason, Mikkola couldn’t eat breakfast on weekdays. And the reason is not really strange: lack of time and your own laziness in making everyday morning. Namely, this problem has never been on weekends.
But then Mikkola came up with a solution to his problem. He started making fresh porridge the previous night.
– As the age becomes more, you have to start paying more attention to her own lifestyle, Mikkola explains the reason for the change.
Eating breakfast has indeed changed Mikkola’s everyday life:
– I do much better now. I notice a change in the morning at work where my concentration has improved. And how easy it is to make it, Mikkola enthuses.
He usually makes a fresh porridge of about three liters at a time. There is enough for several mornings, as the wife takes the porridge with her.
Oats are the foundation of Mikkola’s porridge. In the same bowl with flakes, Mikkola puts seeds, yogurt, juice soup, coconut milk, and, where possible, fresh berries.
Coconut gives the porridge natural sweetness, so you don’t have to add sugar.
The oat boom is still strong. Oats are a health bomb with many good effects. Oats are said to be afflicted with the stomach, as its soluble fibers also prevent constipation well. Oats are also suitable for people with stomach problems and irritable bowel syndrome FODMAP diet.
The high fibers of the oat balances blood sugar and its beta -glucan reduces the absorption of cholestrol into the body.
Blueberry-coconut-fresh porridge
4 dl oatmeal
4 dl of coconut milk
4 dl blueberry soup / blueberry juice
1 dl of pumpkin seeds
1 dl sunflower seeds
0.5 dl of linseed
300 g of fresh blueberries
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1. Mix all ingredients and allow to swell overnight.
