In the Dutch eredivisia there are 101 new market values: there is a plus 75 times, only 26 times a minus. One of the greatest upgrading goes to a player that we will probably no longer see on the pitch this season.
Ruben van Bommel, son of ex-Bayern professional Mark van Bommel, switched from AZ Alkmaar to PSV Eindhoven for 15.8 million euros in summer and suffered a serious knee injury on September 21st. TM expert Jesper Siereveld explains why the 21-year-old wing striker is nevertheless upgraded from 8 million to EUR 12 million.
“He was committed as a record transfer and started very well with four goals in eight games. But everything went wrong against Ajax when he caught a very serious injury, which means that he will no longer play this season. Due to this failure, his upgrading is not as great as many may have expected,” said the Data Administrator Netherlands at the transfer market.
Further upgrades in the master of the master go to the recovered Sergiño Dest (+2 million to 18 million euros) and defense talent Yarek Gasiorowski (+2.5 million to EUR 10 million). After an increase of 6.5 million in the squad value to EUR 256 million, PSV continues to provide the most valuable squad in the eredivisia. Leader Feyenoord Rotterdam increases the strongest in this market value update and increases its squad value by 22 million to 234 million euros.
Eredivisie update: Hadj Moussa largest market value winner
Wing striker Anis Hadj Moussa, which is upgraded from 14 million to 20 million euros, has a large proportion of sporty and market value -related success, making it the biggest winner of the update.
“After the loss of Igor Paixão and Dávid Hancko, the Algerian is one of the key players and figureheads from Feyenoord. This can also be seen from the fact that Robin van Van Persie has appointed him vice -captain behind newcomer Sem Steijn. Hadj Moussa is said to have already made a personal agreement with Benfica, but Feyenoord asked for too much – too much for Benfica. Hadj Moussa came from the Belgian second division team Patro Eisden in 2024 for 3.5 million euros.
Since he was 17, right -back Givairo Read has been playing for Feyenoord, which he was free from Volendam in 2023. A little more than a professional season later he is the most valuable teenager in the eredivisia. Read is upgraded for the fourth time in a row – this time from 16 million to 20 million euros. He replaces ex-Bayern talent Paul Wanner (PSV), for whom there was no update, as the most valuable player under 20.
Market value expert Siereveld says: “Read is one of the most promising defenders in Europe and Feyenoord has received an offer from Paris FC in the amount of 20 million euros this summer. Since it is assumed that you can get a lot more money in the future, the offer was immediately rejected. Feyenoord will be careful with him in the first few weeks of the season because he has just been in a injury. Leaders, which shows that Van Persie appointed him the third captain at the age of 19. ”
Ajax Amsterdam has stopped the downward trend in the squad value and increases by 8.3 million to 196 million euros. For comparison: On July 1, 2024, 292 million and March 2022 was EUR 364 million. Apart from the three top clubs, Alkmaar’s midfield talent Kees Smit earned the biggest plus, and it doubles its market value to EUR 10 million. “Another interesting player is Smit, who was elected to the tournament player at the U19 European Championship. This upgrading should only be the beginning, since he is now a regular at AZ Alkmaar and, according to Marca, Real Madrid has expressed interest in him,” said Siereveld. In the course of the market value update, Alkmaar increased the squad value by 20 million to EUR 124 million.
