After the opening of Würzburg, Telekom Baskets Bonn also lost their first away game.

At Syntainics MBC from Weißenfels, the retired team of head coach Marko Stankovic lost on Thursday evening with 77:84 (33:44). The Bonners ran after a weak opening district, in which hardly anything went together in the offense, permanently behind. The best thrower at Bonn was Grayson Murphy with 14 points, and at MBC Stach Charles Callison with 21 points.

Bad start of the Bonn

Bonn, who was able to fall back on Jeff Garret’s last struck again, fell 0: 5 before Kur Jongkuch and Tylan Birts with their basket gears ensured the first Baskets points (4: 5). But little went together on the offensive at the Baskets. After a threesome by Charles Callison, Weißenfels led 12: 5, Bonn’s coach Stankovic took the first break. But the Baskets continued to struggle while the MBC had the ball run well and pulled to 17: 5. Bonn seemed increasingly unsettled, in the first quarter the guests only hit 6 out of 18 throws out of the field. So Bonn went into the second section with a 14:25 deficit.

In the second quarter, Bonn worked better into the game and defended well, but Stankovic continued to worry. The baskets also left half of the litters from the free -wire line. But Weißenfels was no longer as accurate as at the beginning, so that Jongkuch brought the Bonners to five points in the meantime (29:34). At the half -time break, however, the Baskets were still with eleven points in the back (33:44). Significant: In the first half, Bonn did not hit a throw from the three-point line.

Bon turns on in the last quarter

Garret (24th) sank the first threesome for Bonn in eleventh experiment after the half -time break (39:51). The Baskets remained offensive, but the MBC was able to expand its leadership in the meantime: Khyri Thomas provided an 18-point lead three and a half minutes before the end of the third quarter (45:63). Bonn now played more concentrated and was able to shorten the gap before the final quarter to twelve points (56:68).

In the last section, the Bonners increased significantly. Kessens had the gap seven minutes before the end of the game with a baskbleger melted seven points (64:71). Now Weißenfels was in the meantime, after a Dunking of Garret it was only three points behind – the Bonners were back in the game.

In an exciting final phase, Tylan Birts initially brought the baskets to 75:77, but the MBC struck back through Spencer Reaves and Charles Callison (75:81). Alijah Comithier and Birts then awarded Bonn from the three-point line. The MBC Clever played down the last 28 seconds and finally decided the game on the free -out line.
