In the game between AS Rome and Osc Lille there is an extraordinary situation. The focus: Lille goalkeeper Özer-and two pitch birds among the Italians.
An evening to forget for AS Rome: In the Europa League, the traditional Italian club lost its home game against OSC Lille – also because of an extraordinary penalty scenario.
Everything revolved around Rome’s striker Artem Dovbyk and Lilles goalkeeper Berke Özer. At 0: 1, Rome was awarded a penalty in the 82nd minute. Dovbyk competed, but failed due to the Turkish keeper. Because the Var believes that Özer had moved too early, the penalty was repeated. But even the second attempt parried Özer – and moved too early again.
In the third penalty, Matias Soulé finally took over, since Dovbyk no longer competed after two failed attempts. Soulé also missed – this time Özer’s parade remained compliant. Lille defended the narrow lead until the final whistle.
