BYD recorded a decline in production and deliveries in September. Meanwhile, other Chinese e-carmakers are set up new records.

BYD deliveries decreased in September
The Chinese electric car maker BYD produced 405,554 vehicles in September – a decline of 8.05 percent compared to the same month in the previous year, in which 441,052 New Energy Vehicle (NEV) was produced. The deliveries also decreased last month: the company delivered 396,270 vehicles, while in September 2024 it was 419,426. That means a decrease of 5.52 percent. As CNBC reports, BYD continued to dominate the market and in September accounted for over 54 percent of the total electric vehicle rate.
If you look at the first nine months of the year completely, BYD was able to increase both production and deliveries: from January to September 3,213,569 NEVS, the company produced 16.4 percent more than in the same period of the previous year than was 2,760,910 vehicles. In the meantime, the electric carmaker was able to deliver 3,260,146 vehicles, while in the same period it was 2,747,875 NEVS in the same period – an increase of 18.64 percent.
For the year as CNBC, the company has reduced its sales destination in the middle of a hard price war on the domestic market by up to 16 percent to 4.6 million deliveries.
Other electric carmakers with record deliveries
Meanwhile, according to CNBC, other e-carmakers shone with new records in their monthly delivery figures.
In September, Leap motor delivered 66,657 vehicles, which means an increase of more than 97 percent compared to the same period in the previous year. The company has continued its series of record values.
In September, Xiaomi reached a new milestone with over 40,000 vehicles delivered. The electric car manufacturer did not give any precise numbers, but the recent figures are about twice as high as in January.
Xpeng delivered 41,581 vehicles in September and also set up a new monthly delivery record. This corresponds to an increase of 95 percent compared to the same period last year and 10 percent compared to the previous month.
NIO achieved a new record value in September with 34,749 vehicles delivered. The company was able to increase its deliveries by 64.1 percent compared to September 2024. In the third quarter, deliveries rose to 87,071 vehicles.
Li Auto delivered 33,951 vehicles in September after the sales were under the 30,000 units brand in August. In the third quarter, 93,211 vehicles were delivered.
According to CNBC, Zeekr was just below its record of 18,908 units from May in September: the company delivered 18,257 vehicles last month.
Byd share
Despite the decline in September on Thursday in Hong Kong, the BYD share ultimately increased by 3.36 percent to $ 113.90. Since the beginning of the year, the shares have been able to increase by around 28 percent.
For the Xiaomi share on Thursday in Hong Kong, it was ultimately 3.33 percent high to $ 55.80, while the XPENG papers were able to increase by 2.04 percent to $ 95.05. For the LI Auto’s share certificates, 0.59 percent ultimately high to $ 102.00. The NIO-ADDs in NYSE-HABEN completed 3.27 percent at $ 7.90, while the Zekradrs attract $ 30.17.
